Mike Tangney and Bill Casper Join Rocketrip as Strategic Advisor and Vice President, Sales
NEW YORK, August 12, 2014 —Rocketrip, the first commercially available platform to save companies money on travel expenses by rewarding employees for cost-saving behavior, today announced two new additions to the team.
Mike Tangney, Google’s Global Travel Manager, joins Rocketrip as a strategic advisor. Tangney has emerged as an innovative thought leader among travel managers and has won numerous internal Google and industry awards including, BTN’s 25 Most Influential Travel Executives in 2010 and 2012, and European Travel Manager of the Year in 2010.
“Mike has pioneered the premise that issuing the carrot instead of the stick is a more relevant and productive way to drive compliance with preferred corporate objectives,” said Dan Ruch, Founder & CEO of Rocketrip. “Rocketrip is building on that premise and deploying a platform that will enable all companies to apply the concept in a cost effective way. Mike’s experience will help to accelerate Rocketrip’s rate of product innovations.”
“There is an entirely new type of savvy travelers in the workplace who are adept at using technology to find the lowest prices,” said Tangney. “Online travel sites often have the best deals, so it makes perfect sense for companies to encourage employees to use the sites they want to use while saving the company money. I am impressed by Rocketrip’s platform and I’m thrilled to work with Dan and the team to continue to enhance Rocketrip’s offerings.”
